On 12th April, Eurovent India invited consultants and industry stakeholders to an expert workshop on energy efficient Indoor Air Quality solutions. Taking place at Zorba Entertainment Venue, New Delhi, India, the first ever Eurovent India Expert Workshop welcomed over 160 attendees, who gathered together for an evening of expert presentations and valuable networking. Held in partnership with Thermal Control Business Update, the evening was a breath of fresh air, with an insightful programme of innovative speakers. 

As you would expect from the Indoor Air Quality theme, delegates enjoyed technical presentations on Air Handling Units (AHUs), including their most important components, and heard the latest information on standards and industry recommendations for minimum requirements for AHUs. It was also an opportunity for Eurovent Certita Certification’s President, Sylvain Courtey to discuss Eurovent certification for AHUs in hot and humid climates.  

The presentations were broken into two main sessions. In the first round, Eurovent India members gave insightful presentations including: 

• Life cycle cost analysis for AHUs in hot and humid climate: Arvind Singh (FläktGroup India) 
• Selection of ISO 16890 rated air filters for general ventilation purposes: Anil Nair (Camfil India) 
• Efficiency, energy and benefits of filtration in AHU systems & occupied spaces of India: Deepak Puranik (AAF International (American Air Filter)) 
• Energy efficient fans for air handling units: Vikas Kundra (ZIEHL-ABEGG INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED) 
• Efficiency and benefits of direct driven fans: Ramesh Swaminathan (ebm-papst India) 
• Energy recovery wheels for energy efficient IAQ: Rahul Aeron (Desicant Rotors International Private Limited) 
• Minimising AHU energy- and water-related costs through control: Raul Simonetti (CAREL). 

Following time for a networking coffee break, the presentations resumed for part two, with truly insightful expert presentations on: 

• Designing energy efficient AHU systems by using selection software: Sadhath Abdul Hameed (Zeco Aircon Limited) 
• Harmonics and its mitigation techniques: Rohit Tamta (ABB) 
• Eurovent Recommendation 6/18: Quality criteria of Air Handling Units: Alok Bhardwaj (Systemair India) 
• Eurovent certification for Air Handling Units in hot and humid climates: Sylvain Courtey (Eurovent Certita Certification). 

The evening concluded with networking over delicious buffet dinner in the beautiful surroundings of Zorba Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
