UK first: Daikin and Eurovent Certification list multi-split Air-to-Air heat pumps on MCS Product Directory

Daikin UK and Eurovent Certification have announced a UK industry first, with Daikin becoming the first successful applicant to have multi-split Air-to-Air (A2A) heat pump products listed on the MCS Product Directory through the Eurovent Certification route.

A total of 65 residential Multi-split and Multi+ combinations are now listed, each pairing a single outdoor unit with two to five wall-mounted indoor units to suit a wide range of home layouts. The certified systems include Daikin's Perfera indoor unit.

The listing spans two product families. Forty-five Multi-split combinations cover everything from small compact properties to five-zone whole-house systems, giving households flexible, room-by-room comfort and heating only the spaces in use. A further 20 Multi+ combinations bring heating, cooling and hot water together in a single system, connecting up to four indoor units and a domestic hot water tank to one outdoor unit. Between them, they suit the kinds of homes a conventional radiator system can struggle to reach, from flats and smaller terraced houses to properties with limited space or awkward pipework routes.

The listing is a significant step for the A2A category. It shows that the certification pathway from Eurovent Certification into the MCS Product Directory is now established and working, laying the groundwork for A2A heat pumps to play a fuller role in the UK's low-carbon heating mix as the MCS scheme completes its expansion to cover the technology. Product listing is a required first step towards A2A heat pumps becoming eligible for government support under schemes such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, once MCS certification for the technology is complete.

For manufacturers this opens access to multiple markets and reinforces customer confidence that products will perform as advertised. For HVAC professionals, certification offers confident product selection, through access to accurate, comparable performance data. And for homeowners, availability of government incentives for A2A will follow as the relevant MCS scheme requirements are completed.

Both companies see the listing as the start of a wider rollout. As the MCS framework for A2A matures, further products are expected to follow, broadening the choice of certified low-carbon heating options available to UK households.
