Presentation by Corinne Mandin, Environmental Health Researcher
Corinne introduced delegates to the French IAQ Observatory, a programme created in 2001 to coordinate and develop indoor air research activities at a national scale. Giving the example of cleaning products, Corinne was able to show the alarming range of irritant and hazardous products used in French schools and how from 2010-2011 89% of classrooms has no ventilation system installed. Corrine covered the first nationwide survey undertaken in schools (2009-2011) and the findings on poor IAQ and ventilation in classrooms.
Moving onto more recent times, Corrine discussed the French nationwide survey in schools (2013-2017), explaining the methodology and giving an overview of the results. Corinne finished by discussing the impact of the research on schools before concluding with key points.
Corrine was interviewed for Simon Jones’s Air Quality Matters Podcast.
