Presented by Prof. Catherine Noakes OBE, Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, University of Leeds .
Cath launched into an insightful presentation on the problems and practicalities of studying the effectiveness of air cleaners in schools. From deciphering goals and approaches to understanding, to designing trials in school environments, the first part of presentation covered a range of challenges before exploring some early school studies.
Moving onto today’s research, the rest of the presentation was dedicated to the Class ACT study in Bradford. Cath talked the audience through the methodology, discussing how schools were selected and the interventions used, before discussing filter performance and cost, the impact of HEPA on IAQ, model findings, the challenges faced and key takeaways from the research.
The IAQmatters conference presentations are now available on the Eurovent website.
