Partnership working is key to ensuring the heat pump sector is ready to face challenges both now and in the future. As a firm believer in collaboration, Eurovent Certification strives to build relationships with leading organisations in the HVAC and refrigeration industry. In France, Eurovent Certification is supporting the heat pump sector as an Active Member of the French Association for Heat Pumps (AFPAC). This article will explore the work of the body and the role of Eurovent Certification as a member.
As France accelerates its transition toward sustainable and low-carbon heating solutions, the French Association for Heat Pumps plays an important role. Founded in 2002, AFPAC brings together key players across the heat pump sector, from manufacturers and installers to energy experts and certification bodies. All share in AFPAC’s mission to promote heat pump technology as a major renewable energy solution for the energy transition.
The Association supports decision-makers in the development of effective heat decarbonisation policies, as well as in addressing issues affecting the interests of end-users, industry and all related stakeholders.
AFPAC’s guiding principles include:
Respect: Listen to the different points of view of its members, promote collaborative work in the service of the development of the sector.
Neutrality: Promote all heat pump solutions in a fair and sustainable way in all markets.
Expertise: To gather and share the technical and scientific knowledge of the sector to promote heat pumps.
Quality: Maintain high quality requirements in all phases of heat pump life (manufacturing, installation, maintenance), with the aim of ensuring user satisfaction and the achievement of decarbonisation objectives.
Responsibility: To ensure a civic function in the energy transition on behalf of the sector.
AFPAC plays a pivotal role in:
Eurovent Certification is an Active Member of the AFPAC. AFPAC’s members are at the heart of the association’s strategic direction and day-to-day operations. As an active member, Eurovent Certification:
All the above help France meet its ambitious climate goals through the wider adoption of efficient, renewable heat pump systems.
Eurovent Certification participated in this year’s CAP Morning in Paris on 1st April 2025. Dedicated to, “Tomorrow's skills for the decarbonisation of buildings,” key members of the Eurovent Certification team were in attendance, ready to discuss the importance of certification to guarantee the performance of heat pumps and contribute effectively to decarbonisation objectives.
Organised by the AFPAC on 14th April 2024, the event celebrated heat pump technology. Eurovent Certification was a sponsor of the 2024 event and took part in a round table.
With heat pumps playing an ever important role in decarbonisation, the needs of the industry and its clients must be heard. Organisations such as AFPAC have influence on government policy and consumer confidence. Partnerships with such organisations bring real benefits to the industry at large, as together our voices are stronger.
We truly value being a member of AFPAC and look forward to many more years of collaboration.
