İSKİD Air Conditioning Summit
Building bridges through product certification
On Monday 5th May, the Turkish Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Manufacturers Association, İSKİD, held its Air Conditioning Summit. More than 400 industry representatives, ministry representatives, architects and academicians met at the Hilton Bosphorus Convention Centre, Istanbul. Eurovent Certification was a silver sponsor, exhibitor and took part in the presentations, sharing insights into product certification with the representatives of the Turkish sector.
Event highlights
The Air Conditioning Summit was opened by Tunc Korun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of İSKİD. Korun covered a range of issues including the aim of the İSKİD conference to address the main problems of the sector and bring together the relevant stakeholders. He emphasised the rapid growth and transformation of the air conditioning sector against the backdrop of climate change, and how the conference offers an important opportunity for the healthy development of the sector.
The day was broken down into four sessions, with discussion panels covering the subjects of:
- Exports
- International trade
- Sector statistics
- Carbon at the border
- F-GAS
- Eco-Design criteria
- Testing
- Laboratory and certification processes
- Green incentives (Turkey and Europe)
- Air conditioning in architectural design.
The second session of the day, "If we had an independent test laboratory," focussed on laboratory testing and certification processes and was moderated by ISKID Member Arel Arsoy, President of the EAK - Eurovent Mirror Committee AHU Working Group. The panel included Eurovent Certification’s very own President, Sylvain Courtey, Volkan Erginer, President of TSE Marmara Regional Laboratories Group, and Emre Kandemir, Vice President of the EAK- Eurovent Mirror Committee AHU Working Group.
Volkan Erginer shared that he signed a protocol between TSE and Eurovent Certification at the beginning of 2025 for the ductless fan coil product group, and that manufacturers can have their products tested in TSE laboratories when participating in the Eurovent Certification programme. Sylvain Courtey, shared information about certification, the Eurovent Certification process and the advantage of certified products. Emre Kandemir discussed the importance of product quality certification.
Once all four sessions had concluded, the İSKİD Air Conditioning Summit ended with a cocktail reception.
Relationship building
The İSKİD Air Conditioning Summit offered Eurovent Certification the opportunity to engage with the Turkish market and educate on the benefits of product certification.
