The October exhibition and conference season kicked off in Nantes, France, from 3rd to 5th October, with H’expo 2023, organised by the L'Union sociale pour l'habitat. Taking place at the Parc des Expositions, Nantes La Beaujoire, the three-day event brought together decision-makers from social housing organisations to reflect on the main orientations and priorities for action for the social housing sector. Eurovent Certita Certification (ECC) was delighted to be involved in this year’s event, not only holding a booth in the exhibition area, but also presiding over one of the exciting presentation slots in the Pitch Zone. 

The ECC team was on hand to discuss all things certification and the latest trends in the sector, in the exhibition hall at booth 004 throughout the show, while Sophie Bocquillon, Project Manager, moderated a crucial debate entitled, "Thermal Comfort and Energy Saving: How to Optimize Your Energy Consumption with Certified Equipment", on the 4th October. It ensued to be a captivating discussion on the future of energy, complete with practical tips on how to maximise thermal comfort and energy efficiency.

The H'expo exhibition is a strategic opportunity for all economic and social actors, and with the event boasting over 26,000 visitors and 360 exhibitors, the 2023 H'expo did not disappoint. The trade show is part of the annual congress of the Mouvement Hlm, and brings together more than 10,000 decision-makers from the social housing sector. Low-income housing organisations, design offices, architects, institutional and industrial partners and service providers met to share innovations and experiences during the event. 

As well as an impressive timetable of seminars and discussion panels, H’expo celebrated innovation in the HLM sector with the HLM Innovation Trophies. The awards highlight five exceptional projects and a favourite prize, which included:

• Technical Innovation Award 
• Social Innovation Award 
• Sustainable and Circular Innovation Award 
• Low-carbon Innovation Award
• Managerial Innovation Award 
• "Coup de coeur" prize. 

Other notable distinctions, such as the Architecture Prize for the Citizen Project (organized by the USH and L'Union des Architectes (Unsfa)) and the 2023 USH and Groupe Caisse des Dépôts Thesis Prize, were awarded to honour excellence and commitment.
