In a move that will boost the international harmonisation of standards, enhance knowledge sharing, and build cooperation in product testing and certification, independent product performance certifier, Eurovent Certification, and South Korea’s leading HVAC testing institute, the Korea HVAC Testing Institute (K-HVAC), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 23^rd September 2025.

MOU aims

The partnership is built on a commitment to open communication and active knowledge-sharing between both organisations. By exchanging insights on Standard development and ensuring clear interpretation, the collaboration will help strengthen understanding across the industry. Together, the organisations will promote key Standards, technical documents, and certification programmes, while also working towards the harmonisation of European, Korean, and International Standards.

Additionally, both organisations have committed to undertaking joint initiatives such as training sessions, technical seminars, and industry events, to further enhance cooperation and create valuable educational opportunities for the industry.

Committed to collaboration

Eurovent Certification’s President, Sylvain Courtey commented, “This agreement underlines Eurovent Certification’s strong commitment to expanding our global presence and actively supporting the HVACR industry worldwide. Partnering with the Korea HVAC Testing Institute allows us to combine expertise, strengthen trust, and ensure that certification frameworks are both rigorous and future focused.

By harmonising standards and building common ground, we are helping the HVACR sector to thrive in a fast-changing world, delivering real value to manufacturers, installers, and end users alike.”

The Korea HVAC Testing Institute (K-HVAC) said, “K-HVAC has long maintained a cooperative relationship with Eurovent Certification, the world's largest certification body, for testing and certification for the HVACR industry. This partnership includes proficiency testing and international technical seminars, and the establishment of related infrastructure.

“Through this MOU with Eurovent Certification, K-HVAC expects to collaborate on global policies, certification, and standards for various high-efficiency, eco-friendly new technologies in the HVACR sector, which is rapidly evolving and transforming toward carbon neutrality. Based on this mutual trust, K-HVAC hopes to expand Eurovent's testing and certification programmes globally.”

The 3-year MOU is the foundation for a stronger partnership between Europe and East Asia, helping to enhance certification and industry Standards for the benefit of all.
