Eurovent Certita Certification is pleased to announce the launch of a new certification programme for Heat Recovery Systems with intermediate heat transfer medium (HRS-COIL). 

This certification programme enables to cover a new category of air to air heat recovery exchangers in addition to Air to Air Plate Heat Exchangers (AAHE) and Air to Air Regenerative Heat Exchangers (AARE) for which dedicated Eurovent Certified Performance programmes already exist.

The HRS-COIL programme has been developed in 2015 with the support of a dedicated launching committee. The first release of the Operational Manual (OM) and Rating Standard (RS) applies to Run Around Coils systems and it is foreseen to extend the scope to Heat pipes in the future revisions. 

This certification programme applies to all ranges of Heat Recovery coils which are included in the Applicant/Participant operating software. The “certify-all” principle applies not only to Europe but to all markets. The certification programme is based on product performance testing by independent testing laboratories according to the European standard EN 308:1997 as well as manufacturing facility auditing and operating software checking.

The product performance testing will enable the verification of the following ratings accuracy: 

• Dry heat recovery efficiency (%) 
• Air side pressure drop at standard conditions for each coil (Pa) 
• Fluid side pressure drop for each coil (kPa)

The following schedule is being foreseen: 

• Signing of agreement by manufacturers for HRS-COIL programme (contact apply@eurovent-certification.com). There is no deadline as this is a voluntary registration. 
• November 2016: Publication of certified data on Eurovent Certification website by 30 November 2016 for all manufacturers signing the agreement before 31 May 2016.
